Thimblr is Thimble in Ruby
JP Hastings took the ideas behind Thimble and ran with it, rewriting it in Ruby and turning it into a self-serving Sinatra application.
Why are you not using these tools for your theme development?

This asking business is fine, but it isn’t exactly the easiest thing to enable.
See you have to click on customize from the dashboard. I feel like it’d belong under Account -> preferences. That’d be my first guess.
On Doing It Right™
Tumblarity is gone, or at least for the time being, absent from the dashboard. I could have whipped up a tiny script to hide it, but I’d know it was still there. This odd little metric whose only purpose seemed to be to breed anxiety seems to finally be dead.
Its really strange how a tiny change can have such a huge psychological impact on a community. Suddenly, Tumblr just feels nicer, like less of a rat race, and more of a party.

Finally I’m getting around to making my own Tumblr theme. If anyone wants it, I’ll stick it in the garden.
