back rent
many years ago, my wife Jen lived in Portland, OR with her then boyfriend. They were 16 and 17 respectively, and signed a lease with fake emancipation papers.
she got a call today claiming their damage deposit didn’t cover their broken lease, and we owe them several hundreds in back rent, for months she didn’t even live there.
her ex since allegedly filed for bankruptcy, so he’s not responsible.
there has GOT to be some sort of statute of limitation on this type of thing. yeah?
